MTLAB: Molecular Insight for a Safer & Healthier World!

At Molecular Toxicology Lab (MTLAB), we aim to foster collaborative research that leverages our diverse expertise within the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The research team was established in 2022 with the goal of fostering collaborative research that leverages our diverse expertise within the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The team’s primary areas of expertise include molecular and preclinical toxicology, pharmacology, and experimental therapeutics. Comprising six faculty members from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the team conducts research across a variety of organ systems and disease models, including (but not limited to) neurological, immune, cancer, liver, and kidney models.

About MTLAB

Since 2022, the team has been developing a state-of-the-art laboratory facility. Through several awarded grants, the team has successfully built core infrastructure to support its primary research activities. Below is a list of laboratory techniques and equipment that the team has established or has access to:

  • Cell culture facility: Includes BSL-2 biosafety cabinet, cell culture incubator, and inverted microscope

  • Spectrophotometer

  • Fluorescent microscope

  • Real-time PCR

  • Western blotting

  • Flow cytometry

  • Other equipment: Centrifuges, sonicators, homogenizers, thermocycler, pH meter, chemical hood, etc.

  • Core facility access: Includes advanced equipment such as SEM and TEM microscopy, ICP-MS, LC-MS, and more
