  • Dr. Alsaleh delivered the first webinar in the Preclinical Studies and Drug Discovery Webinar Series entitled “Evolution of Nanotoxicology to Address the Safety of Nanotechnology and Engineered Nanomaterials.” (2026).  

  • Dr. Alsaleh published a new article in the Human & Experimental Toxicology as part of his research on mast cells and silver nanoparticles (2026). 

  • Dr. Alsaleh published a new editorial article entitled “Essence of Toxicology Research to Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 and Beyond: Current State and Future Perspectives” in the Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal (2026).  

2025

  • PharmD students Aryam Akkam and Sarah Alzahrani joined the laboratory to conduct their graduation projects investigating the toxicity and biocompatibility of in-house synthesized polymeric micelles (D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate–poly(ε-caprolactone); TPGS-PCL) in RAW 264.7 cells (2025).

  • Fahad Alhabshan, a PharmD student, joined the laboratory to further develop his research skills. His current work investigates the toxicity of vanadium oxide nanomaterials, with a particular focus on their impact on macrophage functional capacity (2025).

  • Noura Alnqer, a Master’s student in the Toxicology Program, successfully passed her thesis defense on a project investigating the role of gold and silver nanomaterials in cancer cell senescence (2025).

  • Dr. Alsaleh co-edited a special issue entitled “30th Birthday of Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal.” The editors also published an editorial article entitled “Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal: A Special Issue” highlighting the significant role the journal has played in advancing local pharmaceutical research (2025).

  • Dr. Alsaleh delivered an invited talk entitled “Safety of Engineered Nanomaterials at Subtoxic Concentrations: Current and Future Perspectives” at the King Fahd Medical Research Center 1st Conference hosted by King Abdulaziz University. He also moderated a scientific session entitled “Medical Imaging & Advancing Toxicology” (2025).

  • PharmD students Emad Alshehri and Sultan Alghamdi presented a poster at the College of Pharmacy Research Day on their graduation project evaluating the impact of imeglimin on RAW 264.7 cells (2025).

  • Anas Aljarbou, a Master’s student in the Toxicology Program, successfully passed his thesis defense on a project focused on understanding the molecular immunotoxicity of ZnO-doped MnO nanoparticles. His thesis work was also published in the journal Pharmaceuticals (2025).

2024

  • Dr. Alsaleh presented a poster on the laboratory’s recent findings entitled “Doping Manganese Oxide Nanoparticles with 1% Zinc Oxide Ameliorates Their Toxicity in RAW 264.7 Cells” at the EUROTOX 2023 conference in Ljubljana (2024).

  • Dr. Alsaleh delivered a talk as part of the NanoHub Program entitled “Nanotoxicology and Regulatory Challenges in Nanomedicine” (2024).

  • Dr. Alsaleh participated in organizing the NanoHub Program offered by the Nanotechnology Association (2024).

2023

  • PharmD students Abdullah Almutairi and Fahad Aldajani won the Best Poster Award at the College of Pharmacy Research Day (2023).

  • PharmD students Abdullah Almutairi and Fahad Aldajani presented a poster at the College of Pharmacy Research Day on their graduation project investigating the impact of nanomaterials at subtoxic concentrations on RAW 264.7 cells (2023).

  • Areej Alotaibi, a Master’s student in the Toxicology Program, successfully passed her thesis defense on a project investigating the synergistic effects of combining zinc oxide or silver nanoparticles with conventional antibiotics against MDR bacterial clinical isolates from Saudi hospitals. Her thesis work was published in the journal Antibiotics (2023).

2022

  • Dr. Alsaleh delivered an invited talk entitled “Adverse Responses Following Exposure to Engineered Nanomaterials at Subtoxic Concentrations: Are We Still Safe?” at the 2nd International Conference on Genomics, Nanotech, and Bioengineering 2022 hosted by North South University (2022).

  • Areej Alotaibi disseminated her research findings at the KAUST Research Conference hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and received the Best Research Poster Award (2022).

·       Mohammed Alnakhli, a PharmD student, presented a poster at the College of Pharmacy Research Day on his graduation research project involving the characterization of zinc oxide nanoparticles and evaluation of their direct toxicity in RAW 264.7 cells (2019).

  • Dr Almudimeegh published a review article in the Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal titled “Botulinum neurotoxin: from molecular pathogenesis to emerging countermeasures”.

  • PharmD students Turki bin Musaed and Saleh Alsahli joined the laboratory to conduct their graduation projects on computational screening and molecular modeling for the discovery of botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT/A) inhibitors.
